CloudJiffy 8.0 Release Notes
In this document, you will find all of the new features, enhancements and visible changes included to the CloudJiffy 8.0 release.
Changes:
SSH Gate Cryptography Update
In this release, the platform SSH Gate components were updated to support new public key algorithms and the latest SSH versions. The list of changes includes the following improvements:
- support for RSA SHA-2 host key signatures
- the server-sig-algs extension support
- handshake using the ssh-rsa keys signed using the ssh-rsa-sha2-256 (ssh-rsa-sha2-512) algorithm
- added key exchange method using Curve25519 and Curve448 (curve25519-sha256 only)
AutoFS Downgrade
AutoFS is a file system tool to automate directories mounting operations and to achieve the “as-needed” approach. With this directory mounting method, shared folders are mounted only upon access and automatically unmounted after a period of inactivity. The main focus of the implementation is better network efficiency compared to static mounts.
However, some performance issues were detected with the latest AutoFS versions. As a result, it was forcibly downgraded to the stable AutoFS 5.1.6 version for all containers on the platform. The platform will restore regular updates to the newest release as soon as the problem is resolved.
Software Stack Versions
The software stack provisioning process is independent of the platform release, which allows new software solutions to be delivered as soon as they are ready. However, due to the necessity to adapt and test new stack versions, there is a small delay between software release by its respective upstream maintainer and integration into CloudJiffy platform.
The most accurate and up-to-date list of the certified stack version can be found below:
