Important Update: MongoDB Support on CloudJiffy
For many years, CloudJiffy has provided MongoDB as a certified software stack at no additional cost. This allowed our users to quickly deploy and scale MongoDB instances directly on the CloudJiffy platform.
However, due to license changes introduced by MongoDB Inc. (starting from version 4.0.4), MongoDB moved to a paid licensing model. While we were able to temporarily provide MongoDB 6 and 7 versions with an additional fee, vendor limitations now prevent us from continuing this support.
What’s Changing?
- MongoDB has been removed from the list of supported stacks on CloudJiffy.
- Creating new MongoDB containers is no longer possible.
- DBaaS automation features for existing MongoDB containers (such as horizontal scaling, replication, and auto-clustering) will no longer be available.
- CloudJiffy will not provide support or SLA guarantees for MongoDB containers going forward.
What Are My Options?
Existing MongoDB containers will continue to run, but we encourage users to plan ahead:
- Continue using your MongoDB containers at your own risk.
- Deploy MongoDB as a custom Docker image on CloudJiffy.
- Consider alternative database solutions such as:
- Percona Server for MongoDB (community-driven and compatible with MongoDB)
- PostgreSQL (a powerful open-source relational database supported by CloudJiffy)
Next Steps
We strongly recommend that users relying on MongoDB start planning their migration strategy to ensure smooth operations and avoid any potential disruptions.
